Happy Mother's Day!

Wow! What a busy weekend this has been for me! I'm getting ready to throw my 1920's Birthday party and have been doing some much needed outdoor sprucing! Saturday, my hubby and I painted our outdoor fence and worked in our yard. I then started on painting some fun Aqua stripes in our loft! (I will be posting pics of that project soon!) Then today was Mother's Day! I made my Mom a Pineapple upside down cake and a Hawaiian themed lunch as well! Hawaii is very special to my family. We found out my Brother and his wife were expecting a few years ago and I was married in Maui. So when I decided to do the Mother's Day menu that was my go to! It was a fun filled day full of Family time, sun, nephew's playing in the sprinkler and lots of love! I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful Mom.  She's been there for me through everything and is my Best friend!

Below is a photo of the Cake for my Mom.
I made the bunting for it and attached it to some super fun chevron straws.

SHOPRUCHE.com

Happy Friday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful week and are looking forward to an even better weekend ahead! Today I'm talking about a sweet new find I came across a couple months ago. SHOPRUCHE.com is absolutely becoming my favorite online store! It has everything from apparel to home accessories. As I've said in past posts that I'm planning a 1920's themed party for my Birthday this year! My colors are Mint and Gold and I've been looking for accessories to go with my dress. I came across Ruche awhile ago and have been dying to shop from them. Last week I purchased Mint and Gold bangles and a mint and gold ring! Needless to say I'm so in love with them! They came today and I couldn't open the package quick enough. They are exactly like the photo online and are great quality for being so reasonable! If you're looking for an awesome online store with great deals look no further! Below is a pic of my bangles that I took and posted on instagram! Here is the link to the bangles! http://shopruche.com/serenity-bangle-set.html

Color Blocked Kitchen Utensils!

On Sunday I decided to do a spontaneous project! I've been meaning to color block the ends of my wooden spatula's in my kitchen! My kitchen is done in aqua and my plain spatulas needed some color!

Before:
I used painters tape to keep the lines straight.

I used a mug for keeping them upright while they were drying.

The finished product! They turned out so cute and it was super easy!

Have an awesome day and thanks for stopping by!

1920's Inspired Do!

So the other day I was surfing the net for ideas for my 1920's themed Birthday Party that I'm going to be having. I was looking for dresses, hairstyles, shoes and jewelry. I looked at several different hair tutorials on how to do 1920's hair. Since I have long hair I wanted a style I could do so that I don't have to wear a wig for the party. After seeing different ways to do my hair I decided to do pin curls which turned out really cute!

My party won't be for a few months but it's never too soon to start planning huh?!

A little quote!

I was surfing through Pinterest and saw this quote.

This is definitely what gets me through the tough days and is definitely words to live by!

Have a beautiful day!

Dresser Makeover!

Happy Sunday Lovelies!

I wanted to post my dresser revamp that I did.  I've had this dresser since I was a little girl and have been wanting to repaint it for awhile. I finally got the itch to do it.  It turned out beautiful and definitely goes better in my room! Check it out below!

The primer I used is XIM UMA primer, sealer, bonder white.  It bonds well.

The finished paint color I used is Duck White from Sherwin Williams.
The inlay is Gentle Wave by Valspar. I muted it a little bit by mixing the Duck White color in with it.

Thanks for stopping by! Keep a look out for more projects. :)

Kitchen Chalkboard Project!

I have admired so many great looking chalkboards on pinterest lately and I wanted to make one for my kitchen! I took an old frame that I had and painted the backboard of the frame with chalkboard paint. I used valspar and it was great paint. Went on smooth!  I then painted the frame in a aqua color that would match my Martha Stewart appliances.

Finished Result!

It turned out pretty cute! More pics to come!
